It’s interesting to learn that a water filter specifically designed for a certain refrigerator will work better than any other water filter. I wonder how much better it is, or if it’s a negligible difference. Either way, you’d probably save a significant amount of money, so it’s probably worth it.

This article on generic water filters was exactly what I was looking for! I needed to find out whether the no-name filters were worth purchasing, or whether they were a waste of money, and if I should invest extra money for a name brand product. It seems worth it to get the generic product for the cost savings.

When the water isn’t safe, what happens and what can it do to someone health wise. Is it something that can cause cancer? We have a GE Stainless steel with an ice maker, and a water thing. How doe the pH figure in water effect our pH in our blood?

So if I use a generic filter instead of a main stream brand, I still have to have the same safety factors? I never knew that there was a regulation or such a large market for refrigerator filters. Yes, water softeners are a great ideal. They save you tons of money in the long run.

I like the idea of using generic water filters, and not paying for a name. It’s especially interesting that the generic ones offer specialized filtration, which could help me to filter out chemicals and sediments that are in my water. No use in filtering for something that isn’t there (and potentially missing something that is!)
